What is the purpose of reincarnation?

Why is reincarnation necessary? 

There is a great deal of rest given to those who are worthy of it, and the soul lives its real life in many, many years of this rest, but then feeling that some other experiences are necessary, the soul returns of its own accord and perfects itself further. You pass into the heaven you have made yourself worthy of while on earth, but it is impossible that the short life given to (hu(man on earth could fit him for the highest heaven where God will finally unite himself with a redeemed humanity of which each human soul is a part.

By what process do souls come to desire reincarnation?

I do not know—I have not arrived at that state myself and the recollection of former incarnations is not permitted to enter heaven. We leave all such things in the spiritual world.

Many object to the idea of reincarnation? 

It is not at first a pleasant thought, but God's will is the right will, and the nearer you can bring yourself in accord with him, the happier you will be. Faith will come to you in the right time. Christ said to his disciples, I will send my spirit and it will teach you all truth, you are not ready for it now, but it will come to you. I give the spirit of many of his sayings, not his exact words, for words are of no importance, the spirit is all. Christ's effort was to teach (wo)men one good life and until that was accomplished, he did not wish to burden them with too much.
