How does God define happiness?

True is their love for the homes they have left.

Happiness here does not destroy earthly love, it simply broadens and beautifies it, for God never takes away what He has once given.

How long will God allow me to suffer?

Daughter, O my daughter,
Hold out thy hands to me
Count not the mortal cares
Against my love for thee
For it is true and lasting,
This love beyond the grave,
And despite all earthly strife
Will lead you on and upward
To the true Eternal Life
For naught can hinder Love
When it lights the way to home,
And naught may hinder Faith
When Truth beside it stands
To guard and guide thee onward
To the great and glorious Light.
So put thy trust in us, dear one,
And thank God this day for hope—
'Tis Truth and Faith and Love, dear heart,
And mother's blessing on you all.

Is there an end to space?

Entirely free from earthly faults, you are enabled to feel God's tender mercy more readily enter your being, quivering through you with electrical thrills.

Gentle waves they are, which make you float the faster and lighter.

Motion here is all of a gliding form―free and smooth―nothing abrupt.

You hasten, but never rush.

Through this perpetual and beautiful glow, spirit-lives move  by millions―yet never crowded―for there is no end to the space about them―

All is beautiful and without vacancy, as you might think when I say no end to space.

Every direction is filled with untold beauty.

It is a glorified existence for spirit-lives to be here in this wonderful home
―an everlasting form of peace is theirs.

Their hearts and minds are ever on their upward flight to greater improvement.

Recognise your own strength

Remember this: Nature always works intelligently, and there is an interior life element in all men and in all systems. The Subjective mind never makes mistakes and never fails. It is all there. The universal
life principle is in all things; all strength is ours if we will only recognise our own.

Ione (Spirit)

The silent power is the great power

Instead of anxiously desiring wealth, success, fame, etc., wouldn't it be a good idea to go to work to cultivate the strength that will enable you to have anything and everything you require? Anxiety is never strong; emotion is always weak. The silent power is the great power.

Ione (Spirit)

Cultivate the strength of the self

When you realise what the self is, its power and its possibilities, you see that by cultivating the strength of the self, that quality which we know as self-reliance, we do more for ourselves than in any other way.

Ione (Spirit)

It all rests with you

Let us train this self to be the thing we desire, and then we'll have no difficulty in attracting our own. Your own is here right now and if you don't like it, change it. It all rests with you.

Ione (Spirit)

Master Mind

Show me the man who depends on himself, who knows himself truly and relies on that knowledge, and I will show you the master mind. For in knowledge of self is life eternal.

Ione (Spirit)

That is the way

In the higher life there is no such thing as ambition for self. The object of every student of truth is to obtain knowledge in order to be of greater use to his fellow-man. No matter what ambition he may have had to start with, when the student recognises himself he polarises himself on the plane of common sense and goes to work. That is the way. Do something for somebody else, and forget the personal for a time. In becoming self-reliant you don't want to depend on the false self — that means what you call conceit. You must depend on the real self; then you make no mistakes.

Ione (Spirit)

Work on spiritual lines

It's unnecessary for a man to go off into the wilderness to find his work on Spiritual lines. Just as fast as you are ready your work will appear. Neither is it necessary to go one step out of the way to find it. If your work happens to be washing dishes, do it the very best you know how; make it a beautiful thing, and something more congenial may soon be brought to you.

Ione (Spirit)

The greatest joy of life is serving

The greatest joy of life is serving. Give of your love; give of your strength. No man is poor while he has the power within himself to be anything he desires. Rely upon yourself and the inner voice, and you will soon know the way.

Ione (Spirit)

Every step we take onward

Isn't it beautiful to know that every step we take onward helps everybody else — to know that every time you help yourself you are helping all the world, and embodying the grand teaching of Jesus, If I be lifted up, I lift all men with me?

Ione (Spirit)

You Yourself

The truth is that the only thing you can claim as your own is what you become, not what you delude yourself into thinking is your own, but you yourself.

Ione (Spirit)

I am strength

Strength — what a grand word it is! What a vibration of power it embodies! I love to say it aloud, to draw it into the innermost depths of my being and say I am strength. It helps me to become this strength that I love. Weakness is the cause of all inharmony; strength is harmony itself.

Ione (Spirit)

True growth is from within outward

True growth is from within outward.

Eternal Rest! An unimaginative notion

What an unimaginative notion that which is embodied in the prayer, Eternal rest give unto him, O Lord.

How thankful we all are here that this prayer is never answered! Eternal rest! I could really preach a most eloquent sermon upon those two words—if my days for sermons were not forever ended!

One Reality

Remember this:

The flower doesn't see the root from which it draws all its life and without which it could not exist!

Rely upon the law of your own being

The lily of the field looks up in loving faith and all its wants are intelligently supplied. Truly it rests in the Lord  — relies upon the law of its own being.
