O Lord Christ―

Open the door of my body to perfect health―

O Lord Christ―

Open the door of my mind to perfect understanding―

O Lord Christ―

Open the door of my heart to perfect spiritual realisation.

Say this again and again until your subconscious mind knows it, and says it even without your volition, and builds it into your consciousness, and into your being.

What is God's symbol?

It seems to me a glorious truth

Its own supernal splendour casting,

That should be in the souls of youth,

And on men's standards everlasting―

That sacrifices absolute

Through noble striving and endeavour,

If you succeed not, yet bear fruit,

And live in other men forever.

For strength shall thus succeed to strength

Eternal though perpetuation―

And this must give to earth at length

A grander race in every nation.

And men must know that not in vain

Are aspiration and ambition,

For if not theirs in life the gain

The race will gather the fruition.

For life seems evermore today

An everlasting battle-column―

Presenting in its vast array

A glory beautiful but solemn―

And are we not on earth a band

Of warriors, each a struggling brother?

Then pass the torch from hand to hand,

This is the only life, no other.

Let none avow it cannot be,

You linger only at the portal―

The ages yet to come will see

The better manhood―the immortal.

Shall see all beings occupy

Their station true, their true position―

Living life gladly, gloriously,

Fulfilling God's eternal mission.

Make way the coming of the Truth!

What soul that lives, but will adore it?

What soul perennial in its youth

Will not live, hope and perish for it?

Why should you ever babble of

The life hereafter's compensation

Let us make here our heaven of love,

And man in man enshrine salvation!

All hopes ideal and sublime,

Which bring such mighty visions splendid

To aureole the brow of Time,

By these will you then be attended.

And you will speed as lightning speeds

And soar aloft on eagle pinions

While sowing Art's eternal seeds

O'er Nature's realms and vast dominions.

And Hate shall quench her burning brand.

And War destroy her avalanches―

And Peace shall bless each nation's land,

And bear aloft her olive-branches.

Crime, murder shall then be unknown,

Each race shall live its true condition―

Abolishing both king and throne,

And creeds of baser superstition.

True Brotherhood in Freedom's might,

Equality in man fraternal―

Love, Labour, Liberty and Right,

Shall aureole man's brows supernal.

A temple vast shall then be earth

And all the azure deeps above him―

And man, God's symbol since his birth,

Shall truly worship then and love Him.

Just as the sun dispels the fog, and stimulates the growth of the sprout when the fog has been dispelled, carrying on its constructive work, similarly―

Humanity is the One―

Humanity is the many―

Altogether, we may come into the inheritance of The Most High.

Your message of Love, which this prayer invokes, dispels the clouds of inharmony, stimulating the growth of good in each heart.

The spiritual teachers instruct that you repeat this prayer, for world harmony, morning, noon, and night―or oftener―but at least at noon each day.

PRAYER FOR WORLD HARMONY

AT NOON EACH DAY

Glory and honour and worship be unto Thee, O Lord Christ―

Thou who art the Life and Light of all mankind!

Thou art the King of Glory to whom all the peoples of the earth should give joyful allegiance and service.

Inspire mankind with a realisation of true brotherhood.

Teach us the wisdom of peace, harmony, and co-operation.

Breathe into our hearts, the understanding that only as we see ourselves, as parts of the one body of humanity, can peace, harmony, success, and plenty descend upon us.

Help us to conquer all manifestations of inharmony and evil in ourselves and in the world.

Bless us all with the Radiance of Thy Divine Love and Wisdom that we may ever worship Thee in the beauty of holiness.

In the Name of the Living Christ―

We demand it.

You demand too little.

Demand more].

Invocation Prayers 

 HOLY angels, guide these mortals
O'er the mystic waves of time―

Open wide the shining portals
Leading unto heights sublime―
Lift, O lift the veil that hides them
From their loved ones, gone before!
Show them but their shining faces,
Waiting on the other shore.

Christmas Invocation

 O THOU, whose mysterious presence
Fills the earth, the air and sea,
We would chant undying praises,
We would worship only thee.

From the earth's unnumbered altars
Human sighs and tears are born,
Praying for a glad hereafter—

Weary watchers in the storm.

Let them hear the chime of voices
Voices from the spirit-land—

Waking all the slumbering echoes,
Strengthening heart and strengthening hand.

Let them see the star of promise
That shall lead to brighter days,
Over all the plains of error,
Where the babe of Bethlehem lays.

Let them sing that holy anthem,
Sung by angels long ago—

Peace on earth, goodwill from Heaven,

Invocation

O THOU source of endless wisdom,
Lord of earth and land Elysian,
We would bathe our weary spirits
In the fullness of thy love.

We would drink the healing waters
Flowing from unnumbered altars—

Altars where no blood-stained offerings
Fill the earth with woe.

We would rise redeemed—redeeming,

Losing all our earthly seeming,
In the holy words, forgiveness
Of all earthly sin.

We would dwell with saints and sages,
Whose great thoughts have thrilled past ages,
Calling all men to adore thee,
Lord of heaven and earth.

Hear our prayer, ye guardian angels—

Be to us as bright evangels,
Bearing our poor sin-stained message
To the throne of love.

Invocation

O GOD of all nations! O light of our souls!
Whose loving hand guides us—whose wisdom controls,

Through the weakness and darkness 

And sorrows of time,

O lead these thy children to soul-heights sublime.

Let us teach them to love thee and serve thee aright,
Never fearing the darkness, yet loving the light—

Never doubting thy presence, ever trusting thy grace,
To give to each soul its true portion and place.

And unto thee, O God of our life, be the homage and honour of nations and individuals, forever. Amen.

Christmas Invocation

O GOD, our God!

Faint and weary are thy children,

Toiling up the steep of time,

Seeking for the Eastern token,

Listening for the morning chime—

Waiting, waiting, ever waiting

For the voice of long ago,

With its soft, melodious accents,

Soothing every human woe.

Know they not the star has risen,

And its glory gilds the earth?

Hear they not the song of angels

O'er this glorious second birth?

Peace on earth! goodwill from Heaven!

Sing that white-robed angel band—

Peace on earth! goodwill from Heaven!

Echoes over all the land.

O thou God of past and present!

O thou light of every soul!
