What serves a purpose glorious and sublime?

What seems offensive on the shores of time

Serves a purpose glorious and sublime

Even the reptile, that on earth doth crawl

That some have said caused man to fall

Is―by the great creative art

Caused to work a glorious part

In this vast and deeper plan

For the highest use of man.

Glimmer Light

Light quest;
evasive flame.

Yet I think I see
the glimmer light
here now.

One in Spirit - A Poem For You

31 July 2007

The Colour of Indigo

Pain

Unremitting

but the prize
infinitely fine
at journey's end

The colour of indigo

In love or out

In love or out

Good for bad
Better in good
Wasted without

Life-giving Water

Driving rain
Bounty
so splendid

God smiled twice

Beloved Daughter

Bianca

baby girl
so beautiful

I don't know
of shared essays
but I do know
I'm in debt

So when I am untrue
know that I falter

I will always love you

Bigger
and brighter

Sweet girl
I do okay
For in you
I find my way

Not for one single day

Not for one single day
Can I discern my way
But this I surely know –
Who gives the day
Will show the way

So I securely go

John Oxenham

In the Hollow of God's Palm

No soul can be forever banned
Eternally bereft
Whoever falls from God’s right hand
Is caught into his left.

At the heart of the cyclone tearing the sky
And flinging the clouds and the towers by
Is a place of central calm

So here in the roar of mortal things
I have a place where my spirit sings
In the hollow of God’s Palm

Edwin Markham
