Why do we need to love our neighbours?

The way to God is hard, but it is simple—

It is steep, but it is direct, and all that anyone is asked to do is just those two things—

Love God, and seek to serve your neighbour.

What is the real meaning of religion?

What is the real meaning of religion, Mr Ingersoll?

The soul reaching up for a proper relationship with the divine.

Is God from everlasting to everlasting?

Is God from everlasting to everlasting?

Yes, yes, yes.

What does it mean to be a part of my life?

All those who have, in any way, by sympathy or antipathy, come into direct personal contact with you, in a very real sense, are a part of your life. Remember that.

What is the effect of negative thinking?

What is always the effect of wrong thought?

Suffering is always the effect of wrong thought in some direction. It is an indication that you are out of harmony with yourself, and with the law of your being.

How do thoughts create our reality?

Whatever we desire or love begins at once to travel toward us, unless a stronger force from a different direction draws it away.

Do spirit guides know the future?

Do all Spirits know the future?

No—but in some cases, under certain conditions, they can tell what is about to happen, but this knowledge is not their own.

If they are interested in the welfare of a person, one under their care, they may receive knowledge of the future in regard to their charge from a higher source.

The guardian spirit may be unable to prevent that which is foreseen—say, a shipwreck—but he may impress the mind of his charge in such a way as to cause him, when bent on going with the ship, to miss his passage. The vessel sails without him. He hears of the disaster, which befalls her, and he cries out, O, how lucky it was I was unable to get with her!

There was no luck in it. It was pure prevention by his guardian spirit.

Why must I love my enemy?

Feel love for all mankind—even for him, your direst enemy.

Are nature and God the same thing?

God and Nature are synonymous—

One power controls the whole unitedly, and directs all in a channel with which you are connected, leading to something higher, acted upon by a life-principle, which is God, centred or concentrated in your immortality, the mind, reflecting from this to the eternal world. This carries you over the whole universe, acknowledging One Supreme Being, and what you know of Him is by manifestations through his laws of creation.

Which angel is the wisdom of God?

If you would wish for higher knowledge, the wisdom of the angel world, you must so live that you  may obtain it.

The purity and beauty of Christ's lessons must be identified in your life and conversation—your daily walk must be after his example.

Then the angel visitors, from spheres of wisdom and knowledge, will be able and ready to come into communion with you, and your heart will be overflowing with love and happiness, while your mind will be be the receptor of the great and ennobling truths brought to you direct form heaven, and which will make you, while a dweller on this earth, companions and friends of the highest intelligences that come to it.

—Joshua, son of Nun in spirit

What is the meaning of internal light?

If each man followed the internal light that is implanted in him at his birth, and which it is the duty of his parents and teachers to develop to its most beautiful proportions, he would want no clergyman to teach him how to act—no creeds to guide him—no ceremonials to bind him.

He would have within him the true Spirit of God to enlighten and direct him.

It would be a lamp unto his feet, and a light unto his path, and justice, love and wisdom would mark his progress onward.

This, my friends, is what God, in his wisdom, has always designed for man. This is what He intends him to arrive at, and He is gradually bringing the result about.

—Joshua, son of Nun (in Spirit)

How deeply does God love us?

One of the sweetest proofs you have of the Father’s loving care for you is that you so often find in the next life the things, which gave you great happiness below.

The more unexpected this is, the greater joy it brings.

A story is recounted when once seeing a beautiful little girl enter heaven, the very first to come of a large and affectionate family, the sorrowful cry of her mother was—

If only we had someone there to meet her—to care for her!

She came, lovingly nestled in the Master’s own arms, and as He sat, still caressing and talking to her, a remarkably fine Angora kitten, of which the child had been very fond, and which had sickened and died some weeks before to her great sorrow, came running across the grass and sprang directly into her arms, where it lay contentedly.

Such a glad cry, as she recognised her little favourite, such a hugging and kissing, as that kitten received, made joy even in heaven!
Who, but our loving Father, would have thought of such comfort for a little child?

Suffice it to say that no joy you know on earth, however rare, however sacred, can be more than the faintest shadow of the joy you find here—no dreams of rapture here unrealised approach the bliss of one moment even in this divine world.

No sorrow—no pain—no sickness—no death—no partings—no disappointments—no tears, but those of joy—no broken hopes—no mislaid plans—no night—nor storm—nor shadows even, but light and joy and love and peace and rest, forever and forever.
