Preconceived opinions and tradition exercise great influence over the mind, and although fully convinced that the Deity is an intelligent principle, your thoughts will personify Him in the imagination.
Reason alone can set the matter right.
So soon as you personify, and give God a shape, you circumscribe His limits and power.
So soon as you measure Him by human, in power―or shape, and thus bring Him down to finite comprehension, you make Him a finite personage.
The finite cannot comprehend the Infinite!
