Growth is God.

How did I get this new life in so short a time? Where was the dark river? Where was the boatman?  Where was the valley of shadows? 

All hidden, Mary. You have dropped the outer and are revelling in the inner life.

Now I touch a couch, do I not, Samuel, and these are real chairs? Move one up to me—I do not want to feel there is anything the matter with my brain. 

This is a real world, Mary—a tangible one, and your home is a real one.  

Why could God not have made the earth the same way?

Why is a tree not large to start with? Why is an egg not a chicken? Why is a baby girl not a woman? It is all growth, Mary. Growth is God.
