In the barbarous ages, a great
many spirits suffered untold misery and the frightful pictures of Hell
grew out of their experiences, in contending with the elements of an
unknown world and subject to attacks from cruel, undeveloped spirits.
Christ's
advent brought about a new era. He taught men to care for each other,
so that when they entered the Spirit-world they would feel an interest
in their neighbour's welfare and provide for their well-being.
The man
who despises his fellow-creatures becomes a pariah in Spirit-life.
