What is the quickest way of gaining peace?

What is the quickest and most effective way of gaining peace—any form? 

It all comes back to this—to those little acts of service, to the constant rededication of the mind and to the wish and the determination to build up faith as you go along.

Take comfort in this thought—

The wish to do better even though that wish is enmeshed by the shadows and their temptations—if the wish beneath it all is to do better then Christ can bring up to standard that which you failed to do yourself.
