To whom do the departing belong?

What you call the departing is to those on the spiritual side the arriving. Usually, there are some of the departing spirit's friends from the other side waiting at his bedside to receive him.

To these, you owe a certain courtesy and consideration irrespective of your own personal grief, and of the fact that they are not visible.

The departing belongs to those who are waiting to receive him, and not to you, from whom he is departing.
