Why do ghosts stay on Earth?

Perhaps if earthly eyes could see, even mortal deeds would be perceived as taking forms, and the loving and pure heart would be surrounded by innocent forms representative of its life. It is thus that we see the state of those still earthbound. It is thus that they will see themselves when their eyes are opened and they know even as also they are known.
