A gentleman present wishes to know, Ruisdal, how to deal with objectors who are fond of uttering these words, Oh—it is all the work of the devil! Do as the Lord did. Do you not have your own experience as to the character of the manifestations! Some of these no doubt may be from what some call the devil—or, as I would call them, devils, but certainly they are not all from such a source. I am afraid that those who use the above expression are not inquiring into the subject with unprejudiced minds. It is an old way of getting out of a difficulty. But it is a foolish method.
There are good and bad in everything in Nature, and it is so, in this matter of spirit intercourse and manifestations, while the bad may often overpower the good, the good are always conquerors in the end. You must bear with such objectors. The truth will assuredly prevail.
Do you know of any such person as the Devil?
I heard of him when I was in the body, but here we have no knowledge of such a being.
