How to accept the reality of death?

Have we ascertained to our entire satisfaction that we live again? 

That this life is only a prelude to an eternal one? That according as we pass through this state of existence, we shall be prepared or unprepared for another? Another that will endure forever! And knowing all this, do we ever seriously reflect how far we are fitted individually for that change that must come upon us sooner or later?
