Do you not think from what you are able to perceive through the medium that the world is much better morally than it was in our time? I cannot see it. The world may be further advanced in science and art, but the ancient barbarians, as they have been called, were more moral than mankind at the present day. Even your own countrymen in my day were better than their descendants.
