The idea that God is vengeful is utterly false. It is one of those points where we have constructed a God out of our imagination, and then taught our neighbors that God the Father, the Creator of the Universe, the God Who is Love, is vengeful. It is utterly and entirely incompatible that Perfect Love should be vengeful.
