How to break the spirit of selfishness?

Forget self and selfishness disappears—

This little lesson all should remember—it will be of help to everyone, for no earthly being is quite perfect. It cannot be, as perfection is ordained to come in the better—or afterlife. If they were perfect on earth, there could be no advancement here, as you can plainly perceive, though, of course, the more persistent the human will is to do right, the less there is to undo upon arrival here, and spiritual advancement the sooner begins.
