Self-denying love―
This is the atonement―not a reconciliation of sin-stained humanity to an angry and holy God bought by the sacrifice of his sinless son.
Self-abnegation is the true salvation, ennobling and purifying the soul.
Love is the making of the human and the divine―
ONE in aim and purpose.
This was Christ's mission.
In this He was a manifestation of God―
The son of God―
The Saviour of man―
The Reconciler―
The Atoner.
