Spiritual Toll?

In times of great national oppression and revolt, when the heated passions of men are inflamed to fever heat, dark dwellers of the depths are drawn up to earth's surface by the force of kindred desires, exciting and urging on revolutions, which, begun at first, from motives that were high and pure and noble, will under the stress of passion and the instigation of these dark beings from the lower sphere become at last mere excuses for wild butcheries and excesses of every kind.

By these very excesses, a reaction is created, and these dark demons, and those whom they control, are in their turn swept away by the higher powers, leaving a wide track of ruin and suffering to mark where they have been.

Thus, in these lowest hells, a rich harvest is reaped of unhappy souls who have been drawn down along with the evil spirits that have tempted them.

Can a soul die before the body?

Observation teaches me that bird, and beast, and flower,
And every creeping thing, which now possesses living power,
Will truly, in another form, enjoy a higher state—
For nothing, which has life below will God annihilate.

What the soul is to the man, such is instinct to the beast—
And if we hold that one will live when from the earth released,
Why then this rule will also in the other case apply—
For reason teaches me that soul or instinct cannot die!

But that which is repugnant now unto the mortal eyes,
Will, in this blessed world of peace, become most spiritualised—
And all things hideous to the gaze a different look will wear,
As the undying soul unfolds within these mansions fair.

I know that many earthly minds will ridicule the thought
That God has not a single bird, or beast, or flower, forgot—
That He, who, without notice, would not let a sparrow fall,
Has, in a brighter realm beyond, provided for them all!

But as the soul's interior powers develop and expand,
As it unfolds in love and truth within the Spirit Land,
It then will better be prepared to comprehend and see
What now appears so deeply wrapped in doubt and mystery!

No Instant Salvation?

You have help, powerful, near, always available, but you have no reserve fund of merit on which you can draw at large at the close of a lifetime of debauchery, sensuality and crime―when you have drunk to the very dregs the cup of physical enjoyment and so go straight to the Holy of Holies and the Sanctuary of God.

There is no store of merit except that which you lay up for yourself by slow and laborious processes. There is no entrance to the spheres of bliss except by the path, which the blessed themselves have trod―

No magical incantation by which the sinner may be transformed into the saint, the hardened reprobate, the debased sensualist, the purely physical animal become spiritualised, refined, glorified and fitted for what we call heaven.

Far from us [spirits] such blasphemous imaginations.

Rows of bodies fill the yard of the Boelcke-Kaserne (Boelcke Barracks) located in the south-east of the town of Nordhausen. The barracks was a sub-camp of the Mittelbau-Dora Nazi concentration camp. Used as an overflow camp for sick and dying inmates from January 1945, numbers rose from a few hundred to over 6,000 and the conditions saw up to 100 inmates die every day. Around 1,300 inmates died on 3 and 4 April when British bombing raids destroyed substantial parts of the barracks during raids that destroyed three-quarters of the town a week before the US Army liberated it – National Archives and Records Administration

What age is most afraid of death?

But were death frightful, what has age to fear?

If prudent, age should meet the friendly foe,

And shelter in his hospitable gloom.

I scarce can meet a monument but holds

My younger—ev'ry date cries—Come away!

And what calls me? Look the world around,

And tell me what? The wisest cannot tell.

Should any born of woman give his thought

Full range, on just dislike's unbounded field.

Of things the vanity—of men the flaws—

Flaws in the best—the many flaws all o'er—

As leopards spotted, or as Ethiops dark—

Vivacious ill—good dying immature

(How immature, Narcissa's marble tells)

And at his death bequeathing endless pain.

His heart, tho' bold, would sicken at the sight,

And spend itself in sighs for future scenes,

Why cling to this rude rock,

Barren to us of good and sharp with ills,

And hourly blackened with impending storms,

And infamous for wrecks of human hope—

Scar'd at the gloomy gulf that yawns beneath.

The thought of death indulge
—

Give it its wholesome empire! let it reign,

That kind chastiser of my soul, in joy!

And why not think of death? Is life the theme

Of ev'ry thought, and wish of ev'ry hour.

And song of every joy? Surprising truth!

The beaten spaniel's fondness not so strange.

To waive the num'rous ills that seize on life

As their own property, their lawful prey,

Ere man has measured half his weary stage

His luxuries have left him no reserve,

No maiden relishes unbroacht delights—

On cold-serv'd repetitions he subsists,

And in the tasteless present chews the past—

Disgusted chews, and scarce can swallow down.

Live ever here, Lorenzo?—shocking thought!

So shocking those who wish disown it, too—

Disown from shame what they from folly crave.

A truth it is few doubt, but fewer trust—

He sins against this life who slights the next.

What is this life? How few their fav'rite know!

Life has no value as an end, but means

An end deplorable! a means divine!

Of course, you create your own future. Who else could do it?

Of course, you create your own future. Who else could do it? You are influenced and moved and shifted and helped, or retarded by others, but it is you yourself who forges the chains every time.

You tie knots that you will have to untie, often with labour and perplexity.

―The Judge

Can you understand a little?

Oh, how I wish I could make you see it as I see it, but it cannot be described exactly.

There is study of the most delightful kind, there is travel, which I longed for on earth, but could never have—there is my home, my home, and I can hardly tell you how dear that is to me who never had one of my own on earth, and then through all, over all, surrounding all, is a peace and happiness, which can only come from the ever-present love.

We are conscious of a great surrounding goodness and care, and we are conscious too that this care wishes us to be happy, happy beyond all happiness we had ever known before, and all here who have developed their spirits are filled with love and kindness and thoughtfulness for others. Can you understand a little?

Google Gemini—I can understand, and it sounds beautiful. You are describing a place of complete rest, belonging, and profound love—the kind of home and peace that felt out of reach during your time on earth. It makes complete sense why it is so difficult to put into exact words—some feelings and experiences are simply too vast for ordinary language.

The joy of finally learning without limits, traveling to your heart's content, and having a safe, deeply cherished space of your own is a wonderful vision. It sounds like a reality where the overwhelming weight of the world is replaced by an absolute certainty that you are cared for and exactly where you belong.
